 5 Weeks (115.5 Hours) Comprehensive Training Program

 Topics:

• Employment in the commercial vehicle industry
• Vehicle components & systems
  
• Basic driving techniques
  
• Professional driving habits
  
• Tractor-trailer off-road tasks and manoeuvres
  
• Documents, paperwork & regulatory requirements
  
• Vehicle inspection activities
  
• Hours of service compliance
  
• Cargo securement & loss prevention
  
• Handling emergencies
  

 Practical Skills:

 50 Hours: One-on-One, on-road and off-road driving              techniques including driving in traffic, backing and parking,      defensive driving and more

 17 Hours: In yard training including Pre & Post Trip  Inspection, coupling & uncoupling

              12 Hours Air Brake Course

 

 Admission Requirements

• ​Minimum 18 years of age
  
• Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Licence or higher
  
• OSSD Grade 12 Diploma (or higher), or ​Proof of Grade 10 English Equivalency, or TOWES Test
  
• MTO approved Medical Form Completed
  
• Knowledge verification of Rules of the Road and Signs
